How to get to Szczecin?

By plane:
Airport Szczecin Goleniów: Buses leave every 20 minutes from the airport to the city centre. Ticket fare: 17,90 PLN (about 5 €).  By taxi: Airport Taxi Group – tel. +48 91 481 7690, price about 140 PLN (about 35€)

Airport Berlin Tegel/Schönefeld: Buses depart regularly to Szczecin . Ticket fare: 99,90 PLN (about 25 €). If you wish, we will book the bus for you!

By train or bus:
The Main Railway Station (Szczecin Główny) and the Main Bus Station are situated next to each other in the city centre. We will pick you up from the station and take you to your hotel/pension.

By car:
There is a car park next to the pension and the school. The city centre has three parking zones (A red, B,yellow and C green). You have to buy a parking ticket for each zone from special car park machines called “parkomaty” which can be found in parking areas.

Which documents do I need while crossing the Polish border?

An ID card or passport are sufficient documents to cross the Polish border for residents of the EU member states. Residents of other countries may need a visa.

Does the school help in getting a visa?

For those who are waiting for a visa, we can provide certificates of course application once we have received a pre-payment for the course, but we do not provide invitations.

Public transport – MPK:

You can buy tram and bus tickets at any newsagent’s and shop with the label “Sprzedaż biletów MPK” (public transport tickets available here). A ticket for 10 days (all buses and trams) costs 46 PLN.

Can I pay with euro in Poland?

Unfortunately no. Poland’s official currency is still złoty (PLN), 1 złoty is 100 groszy (1 zl = 0,25 €). You can change money in banks, most larger hotels and bureaus de change. You will find the best exchange rate in the city centre, but not at the railway station. Most shops accept credit cards. You can cash traveller’s cheques in larger banks, in general, however, cheques are not very popular here.

Can I withdraw euros from a cashpoint/bankomat in Szczecin?

Unfortunately no. Poland’s official currency is still złoty (PLN) and only this currency you can withdraw from an ATM.
